Top 10 of '08

Since I was the Sports Editor and got to cover the majority of the sports here at Cabrillo I thought I'd create a list. Sincel I'll be taking off to Fresno tomorrow to soon start school at Fresno State I wanted to leave a list of the Cabrillo's top 10 athletes of '08. I want to congradulate y'all of your success and I wish nothing but the best for everyone.

#10 Frank Knights (football) (Golden Gate All Conference OL) full ride scholarship to Southeast Missouri State

#9 Men’s Water Polo Team on having its best season in coach Josh Thomas' 9 seasons at Cabrillo

#8 Peter Barnard (basketball) (Cabrillo Classic All Tournament Team) 6-foot-8 center who will attempt to help Cabrillo pick up its third Coast Conference South title in as many years

#7 Miguel Lizarraga (football) (Golden Gate All Conference DL)

#6 TJ Swedelius (football) (Golden Gate All Conference LB) led team with 14 tackles for loss

#5 Nick Wanner (football) (13 TD passes in the very tough GGC to only 5 INT’s) including finishing tied for first in team GPA with a 3.75 GPA always commendable

#4 Ari Logan (volleyball) (All Coast Conference Selection) the power and muscle that helped lead Cabrillo to its second straight CCS Title. The second straight season in undefeated fashion.

#3 Tony Gallo (basketball) (Cabrillo Classic All Tournament Team) leads the team with over 17 points a game including a career high 34 points in Cabrillo's host tournament

#2 Taylor West (football) (Golden Gate All Conference DB) led team in tackles with 109 which ranked second in the state, 4.5 tackles for loss, eight pass deflections and blocked five kicks on special teams to lead the state. West' steller player lead to him receiving a full ride scholarship to Southeast Missouri State

#1 Leah Anthony (volleyball) (2008 All Delta Tournament Team, Coast Conference South Most Valuable Player, finished '08 season as the #2 ranked junior college player in Northern California, first team all-American)
